Elder William Hansen

hello! can you believe its my fourth pday in indonesia?? I dont know what time is like in the nonmission world but here it goes ridiculously fast! i cant believe its another week!
id like to start off with some good news, theres a rat living in our gutter that climbes from the gutter to the drain into our kitchen sink and all over our dishes and food. and we cant really catch is cuz it runs away out side, so we are goin to buy a trap today. in the mean time, if i catch the black plague from it, wish me luck.
other than that. its been a good week. a little (haha ok giant) rain storm a drunk hindu that blessed elder barlow after he yelled at us that he wanted to go back to india, just crazy stuff! my bike broke on the sketchiest street in town, and everyone there laughed at me so that was fun but i got it fixed so its sorta better. the wheels turn now so im happy!
the power is out here like. every day at least 1 time but maybe up to 3 or four. its great, but as long as its on at night for the ac in our bedroom, i dont have much of a problem with it!
this week we were sitting on our bikes at a stoplike and this random dude rides up and is like. hey want to come to my house. we were like. well ya. we are missionaries, its all we try and do, get into houses, so we couldnt say no. we rode there, he gave us really hot lemondae, not tea though we made sure, then he proceeded to tell us his life story and how he is a muslim, loves being a muslim, gave us a book about how christianity is false then tried to sell us some tea. it was a pretty weird visit i dare say, but now we have a new book in our house...
everyone here believes in ghosts. with out exceptions. and they all have ghost stories. elder pujianto has lots, and some i actually believe, but that is one thing that is so different from america!
in medan, at church missionaries teach a lot and do lots of jobs, because therre is so many inconsistant members! its hard cuz of the language barrior for me, but is eye opening to see the opposite side of the churhc compared to utah where everyone konws what our church is!
ate bananas this week, and its weird cuz here they are almost crunchy and juciy. thats not a very good description but thats the best way i can think of! i dont know if i like that.
For entertainment, we listen to elder pujionto read from his english book. its hilarious, with his accent, and monotone indonesian voice, it cant be beat.
Ive been reading from the bible more this week as it is what lots of people know here and i want to relate to them! i hadnt studied much, and now i wish i had, but its been a good experience learning even more.
this week we taugh some pretty good lessons, and bang eka prayed about a bapt. date on the 20th but is still not sure, and very shaky. but we've been praying hard for him so i really hope he makes it! hes our only prgressive investigator, most people here,stuggle to get to chruch to do commitments, to care about actually dedicationg their life to a religioun so its been pretty hard, to get lessons, teach people, but when we do, its so rewarding! we havent found a new investigator for a while, but we try hard and have the faith that we can get that oppurtunity through our efforts through the help of God!! its good here, and im so happy to be serving the lOrd and these people! how is everyone doing?
