Hello everyone! sorry for the late email. We have these things in the UK called Bank Holidays. On mondays sometimes they just close everything down. So that is a thing. If you dont hear from me on a monday then there is a bank holiday. So no worries.

Man. I had my first baptism this week. Li-Kun ended up getting baptized. He is so cool. he is so humble and such a great guy. After the baptism, he invited us over to his house and he and his friends made us 7 traditional chinese dishes. He is an amazing chef. There is a whole fish he cooked. You should see it in the pictures following. But he is so crazy cool.

We are teaching christian and he is solidly progressing. He keeps bringing up crazy bible stories and we try to keep relating it back to the book of mormon but he just goes off for about literally 10 minutes on one story. he is such a funny guy.

The GQing is not going very well. most of the people we find are students at the university and it is the end of the semester. so people want to finish writing  their dissertations. They are all very preoccupied. They dont want to talk because they are doing a ton of homework.

It is finally starting to look like england out here. I havent seen the sun in a week. It is kinda depressing. But you know... That is how it goes. The bike rides are actually pretty fun in the rain. Sounds crazy. But it is. We have been working hard and it is so rewarding. I cant really write a long letter. We dont have as much time to write as usual so i gotta cut it short.

Hello Everybody!!!

This week was a toughie. We were feeling so good coming into the week. We thought Gopal was going to get baptized, Fiona was going to be solid, we had a ton of progressing investigators, but it all kinda fell through.

Gopal met with us a week ago saturday saying he would be baptized next week. But he then proceeded to flake on us on the monday. We waited for him, called him, texted him and he wouldnt reply. So later that day we called from a private number. Our sweet nokia phone has that option. He answered that. It was actually kinda funny. He answered and i said Hey Gopal! It is the Elders! He then said he couldnt hear me. I talked to him and after everything i said, he just said hello. No matter how long or short it was. It was like he could hear me but just said hello after everything i said. "Hey gopal we havent heard from you in a while!"

"Hello?"

"We were wondering how you have been! how is your family doing?"

"Hello?" 

This is an actual thing, 

"Hey gopal can you hear me?"

"no"

I made some really long scentence. He didnt interupt me, but as soon as i finished, Hello? Very frustrating. He didnt end up getting baptized this week. And we dont think that he will.

Fiona is so solid. She has such a strong testimony of Jesus Christ and Hevanly father. She knows that they help her so much in her life. And it is amazing to see. She has a smoking problem. We taught her the word of wisdom. We invited her to live the word of wisdom. She accepted, but she cancelled our next appointment and didnt come to church. We were very sad. We called her and we asked her how the smoking was coming. She said not good. So we pray for her every prayer we have that she will stop smoking. We had to move her date back to the 21st. Kinda sad. But she will get there. She will be a solid member of the church.

Sad but happy moment last night. Li kun went back to china last night. I had the opportunity to confer to him the holy ghost and pronounced him a member of the church of jesus christ of latter day saints. that was one of the coolest experiences i have had. But we cooked for likun last night and it was so fun. we hung out with all of our chinese friends that we made and had a ton of food. He gave me a fan straight from china. It is a treasure to me now. Likun was starting to cry as soon as we left. it was so sad. But he said he is coming to america in 2 years so i get to see him again!!!

Christian is progressing pretty much. We cant get through a lesson with him because he talkes way too much. We cant get a word in edgewise. But we try and he accepts it. he is expecting a big sign but we keep telling him that it will be a still small voice but he wants a sign. 

College football started this week. Very sad. I had a rough day on saturday knowing football was on and i couldnt watch it. Very very sad. but i know i am out here in the exact place i need to be in the world at this moment. And i am thrilled to be able to do the lords work.
