Elder Cameron Murray

I think Im starting to get adjusted to Missionary life  in Nurnberg.  I had my first Dinner appointment with members yesterday and it was sooo goood!  They gave us some kind of German Meatloaf and we has some amazing Apfelkuchen. The German here is so hard to understand sometimes.  Ive been super blessed to understand the general idea of whan theyre saying but sometimes especially with their weird dialects We have no idea.  My comp is very new in the field as well so he usually just nods his head and acts like he understands.  I totally believed him till one day he told me he doesnt really catch all of it.  The German Brotwursts are way good too!  We had are first investigator appointment yesterday.  We cant consider him an investigator till we set up another appointment but he seemed like he would defenintly meet again with us.  Weve been blessed to see some awesome miracles this week.  I wont tell you all of them because miracles arent whats important.  Faith is where the foundation lies.  Christ always went around telling people not to tell others the miracle he had done for them.  That is because he wanted them to have Faith.  Miracles are a product of Faith and are definitly a huge blessing in our lives.  We should all seek to strenghten are Faith and Hope.  We need those attributes to withstand the trials we will face in this life.  So at the beginning of the week we were walking around a neighborhood looking for a less actives house.  We were pretty lost and we felt like we should go knock on a house to ask for directions.  As soon as we decided to go knock on the door I could feel that was the right decision even though I didnt know why.  A older lady came to the door and she kind helped us figure out where to go.  We asked to share a message with her and she declined and said something about her being very sick. She told us she had respect for us and we said we would pray for her.  We resolved to return later in the week even though she wasnt interested.  We came back another night with a bag of cookies.  Our cookies where smashed from my bag and my comp had just finished telling me what a bad day it was because everything fell through and our cookies are demolished.  We knocked on the door and after what seemed like a long time she finally came to the door.  She was very appreciative of our cookies even though they were broken and then after talking for a bit all the truth came out.  Apparently she has lung cancer really bad and from what it sounded like to me she doesnt think she has much time left.  She is religious but she thinks God has abandoned her.  She has no Husband and her married daughter is living with her for now.  We couldnt come in to teach her a lesson because there was no man in the house.  We got her contact information and now we are trying to make an appointment if we can contact her.  We left the appartment and I turned to see tears in my companions eyes.  Before his mission he had a few dreams that he would find a sick old lady in Germany who really needed his help.  He told me that was the Lady.  God wants us to act, not knowing before hand what will come of it.  Had we known the results of us knocking on the door before hand we would have undoubtably done it.  He wants us to take that step of faith into the darkness, and he will guide us through as we take more steps of faith. That is how he guided Nephi to obtain the plates and that is how he guides us today.  I know the Lord is watching over his servants and he will continue to as we follow his commandments.
Love, Elder Murray
